Design Approach
We began by researching existing smashers and noticed most used door-handle designs that weren’t very ergonomic. Our goal was to create a smasher that is comfortable, safe, and fun to use, while adding a playful character to the kitchen.

Design Process & Solution
Our first prototype explored a palm-grip handle, which improved control and reduced hand strain. We then iterated on cylindrical, burger-inspired handles to balance comfort, functionality, and playful aesthetics.

The internal structure was designed for durability, waterproofing, and cost-effectiveness, while a divot in the handle prevents rolling and adds a whimsical “bitten burger” detail. The handle attaches securely yet detaches easily for storage or cleaning, ensuring safe, practical use without compromising the playful form
